The competition seeks to reward non Bordeaux-style blended wines that are created  reflect their unique origins and expression of place.

This year’s competition drew 82 entries from 62 producers. These were tasted blind (labels out of sight) by the three-person panel, scoring done according to the 100-point quality scale.

Erica 2014 scored 91 points, making it the second highest scoring wine of the competition.
